Hey All --
A quick word of thanks and an update on this amazing back-to-school adventure we've been on.
Thanks... to all of you who've been so supportive. The readers who've used our resources to make this a great back-to-school for your kids and your school. The folks who've given us so much excellent feedback. The media who've helped spread the word in such a huge way. And the sponsors who helped us bring this resource to so many schools and parents.
Update... Now that it's November(and we're hearing Christmas carols on the radio), we're going to finally admit that the back-to-school season is really over. So we're closing down our updates and blogging for the current site. Feel free to enjoy the existing site for now. We'll be back with more + better by the Spring of 2008. We've got some great new tricks up our sleeve....
Hope this is your best school year ever (and that we've perhaps had a small bit to do with that)...

Plenty of parents get nervous about meeting with teachers, but still, you shouldn’t feel like you’re being called into the principal’s office.

It’s well-documented that parent involvement helps kids do better in
school, but during the busy school year, it can be tough to set aside

I grew up in a very small town. The kind of town where you can’t go
anywhere without seeing someone you know. So when I went back for a
visit earlier this month, it wasn’t the least bit unusual that I ran
into several of my old teachers. What surprised me was how much I
remember about being their student.

Every year, the parents in my neighborhood kick up a fuss about the
middle school bus stop. The elementary kids get picked up every few
houses, but once they enter 4th grade, they have to walk to a single
stop. The stop is about a half-mile away from the farthest point.

We made it through the first week of school and so far, so good. Except

fresh notebook.
